Paul Cézanne

Pissarro was also a mentor to Cézanne, who was about ten years younger. They started painting together near Paris in the 1870s. Pissarro taught Cézanne to paint what he saw in the world and to paint outdoors. Cézanne painted this work many years later, when he was living in Aix-en-Provence in southern France.

How would you describe Cézanne’s brushstrokes? Are they thick or thin? Can you think of five adjectives to describe them?
