The artist Elizabeth Colomba and Autumn Womack, assistant professor of English and African American Studies at Princeton University, discuss the significance of Colomba’s portrayal of the eighteenth-century poet Phillis Wheatley (on view in the exhibition Repainting the Story at Art@Bainbridge) in the context of Wheatley’s life, fame, and legacy. Introduced by Laura Giles, Heather and Paul G. Haaga Jr., Class of 1970, Curator of Prints and Drawings.
