Since the Museum’s founding in 1882 the collections—over 97,000 objects spanning all media and millennia, from ancient to contemporary—have been assembled, largely through the generosity of donors, both alumni and friends. Many donors make a gift of art to enhance the Museum’s collections and to support its mission as a teaching and research institution, so that future generations can experience the power and enjoyment of great works of art.
The Art Museum welcomes gifts of art consistent with the focus of its collections and the Museum’s commitment to excellence. To inquire about making a gift of art, begin by consulting the staff directory and contacting the appropriate curator, who will be pleased to speak with you.
